Day 1

Friday, Sept. 28


Optional Half-day

10:30-11:15  Registration for Friday “Daytime” Only. CSS Neuse State Historic Site, Kinston, NC.

11:30              Bus Departs from the CSS Neuse parking lot.

11:45-2:45   Battle of Wise's Forks tour with Wade Sokolosky and Mark Smith. 

3:00-4:00    CSS Neuse museum visit and tour.

4:00-6:30      Hotel check-in and conference registration. Conference Hotel, Smithfield, NC

7:30-10:00    Dinner and keynote presentations, “Johnston and Sherman,” by Dr. Craig Symonds and Dr. John  Marszalek. The Barn at   Broadslab Distillery, Benson NC.  

 

Day 2

Saturday, Sept. 28

7:30                  Buses Depart Conference Hotel

9:00-10:30     Battle of Monroe’s Crossroads tour with Eric Wittenberg. 

11:00-12:30    Civil War Fayetteville driving/walking tour with Wade Sokolosky and Mark Smith. 

1:15-2:15          Lunch at Oak Grove. Averasboro, NC

2:30-4:30       Battle of Averasboro tour with Wade Sokolosky and Mark Smith. 

4:45                  Buses depart for the conference hotel.

7:30 -until       Reception, heavy hors d'oeuvres, meet and greet/book signings, and candlelit Harper House tours at Bentonville Battlefield. (Drive to Bentonville on your own). 


Day 3

Sunday, Sept 29

9:00-9:30     Gather at Bentonville Battlefield for light refreshments and check-in. Bentonville, NC

9:30-1:30       Battle of Bentonville tour by Dr. Mark Bradley. Bentonville, NC

1:30                  Program Ends
